Movie: Goodnight Goodfight
Only one day ago since the last movie was released, and yet another is to be made public
This time we will meet the swedish TeveT in his new fragmovie, made by himself and Herman, the movie features a good bunch of tdm and 1v1 frags vs various players
» Comment from TeveT
Fragmovies are good in many ways, they make me more motivated to play (and become better) but also they make you look pretty darn good (if done right). You dont get to see the bad performance just the good bits, which is great.
We've been working on this movie for some time ( me and Herman) so its good to finally get the piece out in the open, demowatching took up most of the time im pretty sure of.
Other than that Herman has done a great job with experimenting with alot of effects and tricks which resulted in a fast-paced and at places well-timed movie.
Before you watch the movie you should ask yourself, do you like hitscan (sniper most of all)? If the answer is no, watch anyway but dont get mad, because you will see alot of lightnings in this quality production.

The uncompressed sound is due to the fact that this was only supposed to be a screening render and not intended for release. An intro was gonna be added but days turned into weeks and weeks into month, so i decided to release it as it was and let the people see it before it gets forgotten ;)

i know whats gotta be done, so let it be:
Image quality: The quality had some choppy edges, though i didnt find any codec errors and what so ever. with a file on 161Mb and only 3min 52sek long video it gives an extreme 41,7Mb/min which is way to much of a movie in that quality, that is due to the uncompressed audio which takes up 42,6Mb of the whole vid, so with compressed audio (192 kbps mp3 i.e) it would be something more near 31Mb/min which would be acceptable but still a little to much, so quality pr mp in this movie must stay as the worst thing.
Music: The music is imo ok for the movie, didnt really notice any sync, but it did still flow very good to the movie, though i had to fire up the volume because of the very low music and lack of ingame sounds / hitsounds everywhere (the few scenes with hitsounds were great), so nothing special on this front, but it worked nicely to the movie though
Frags: This part must be the point where this movie really shows off, alot of skilled hitscan action, that was truely very nice, though the movie kinda needed some other style of frags (like a few airrockets, airflaks, funny bio kills) so it would just be the same over and over again, bust still the frags must stay as some of the best in those ut2k4 movies there are out atm. but the credits there was some "funny" shots which was good just to have something else in it.
Effects: not much to say, a little colour glow which did fit quite nice with the lowered brighness, didnt miss any effect's, only the first time i watched it i kinda though "hmm" about the colour glow and reduced brightness, but it didnt disturb the movie in anyway.
i noticed the config changed colours quite some times and + the hud layout also switched sometimes, didnt make the overall look so good, but didnt dirsturb the experince in anyway, nice and clean editing overall.
Overall: a very good movie, one of the better ones, a MUST for every ut2k4 gamer, it had some minor faults but the overall look it was good, the lack of an intro dude to the early release was not good, but dont fix something that aint broken, right.
8/10

Why hasn't anyone noticed the screwed-up aspect ratio? The screen was stretched almost double horizontally, making everything seem skewed and ugly. Didn't like that choice at all - if you want to make wide-screen then you have to crop out the top and botton, not stretch the whole thing...
Frags were mainly headshots against known players, which shows off that you're TeveT, Swedish sniper extraordinaire, but isn't very interesting to watch after the first minute or so.
I liked some of the effects, but none of the frags were really synced to the music (which, in addition, sucked). Personally I didn't like this movie - it had some good parts but the stretched picture ruined it for me as well as the monotonous nature of the frags.
There is a reason why people use bio, flak and rocket frags in movies, you know.

I liked it, although I like when movies are a bit longer but for a movie to be longer than this I guess you need more frags from other weapons than shock/lg :)

Loved the red eyes too :)
Some pretty good editing in general.
I just didn't like the collection of frags, as other have pointed out; too many lg/shock frags, and too little of the other kinds.

Loved the movie.
Btw, I noticed that in one scene there was a list to the left on top of the screen that showed hp and such of the other teammates. How do you get that..?

always liked tevets snipermovies *atleast the one ive seen*.
its neat to see some skilled snipershots instead of the usuall flaksec frags in the head ...
i havnt seen this one yet, but will in 2 min, dont think it will dissapoint anyone.
