Topic: hitsounds

So basically variable pitch doesn't work for some unknown reason to me.
Yes, i have hitsounds enabled in menu3spn. But still, every hit - be it a headshot or minigun spray - sounds exactly the same. :(
Anyone know why this is? Any help would be much appreciated. :)

Try the settings below, copy them into [ALAudio.ALAudioSubsystem] in ut2004-win64.ini. If you're using 32-bit and theres no different pitch in hitsounds the solution might be simpler than you think, check if "DisablePitch=" is set to True (should be False). That's what i think disabled the variable hitsounds to begin with for me when i experienced the same problem you guys are having. As a 64-bit user i believe it could be beneficial if you've installed OpenAL
[ALAudio.ALAudioSubsystem]
UseEAX=False
Use3DSound=True
UseDefaultDriver=False ;Experiment with this value to determine if you gain anything in quality
CompatibilityMode=False
MaxEAXVersion=255
UsePrecache=True
ReverseStereo=False
Channels=128 ;This value might be a tad excessive and isn't necessarily supported by your soundcard, if the game crashes try a lower value like 96, 64 or 32.
MusicVolume=0.000000
AmbientVolume=0.000000
SoundVolume=1.000000
VoiceVolume=0.000000
VolumeScaleRec=0.100000
DopplerFactor=0.000000
Rolloff=0.400000
TimeBetweenHWUpdates=15.000000
DisablePitch=False
LowQualitySound=False
UseVoIP=False
UseVAD=False
UseSpatializedVoice=False
SpatializedVoiceRadius=100000.000000
EnhancedDenoiser=False
LocalZOffset=0.000000

hmm, that's a shame and unfortunately i have not much else to suggest except that you could use the 32-bit .exe instead.
Personally i find the 64-bit to be a little bit glitchier when it comes to graphics,since it uses the unsupported D3D9 renderer instead of the standard D3D8 one (D3D9 was removed in 32-bit).
*EDIT*
In one last ditch effort i looked up an old thread from some forum. It may or may not be related to why hitsounds work properly for me in 64-bit, just pray that it does :) Check it out
