nice work!
love the weaponchange speed and reduced aircontrol. dodgejump - felt a bit odd, that jump part mby should be a bit shorter or smth? or removed - there seem to be a lot ppl against it..
one thing though - couldn't get it to work with BTA. all i could get was hudless screen.. at most.

Thanks for the encouragement guys.
After a long hiatus i plan to start development again. The outcome will hopefully be a mutator that consists of small gameplay/balance tweaks for the competitive community and another mutator/gametype that completely changes the movement but is again aimed at competitive play.
Coding is slow atm as work takes up all the free time I once took for granted. Hopefully it won't be too long before I have something else to preview.
Lamp, thanks for trying :) I agree that dodge jump is odd but no amount of tweaking will make it feel right. It will be removed in the next version (of the competitive mod) but will remain in the other faster mod. I really need to come up with names.

*Quick Edit* Im not sure with youre intentions.. if it to replace the original gameplay and get people to think this is better then read below... If its just towards making a mod for some random people to try... forgive me.. im abit drunk :P
Yes yes youre doing alot of good work im sure.
But GIVE IT UP.. its a mutator that will never change the game in its whole.. there will never be new players using this.. there will never be competetive play using this. It is a waste of time.
No i am not trying to sound ungreatfull im just saying its a waste of time. Sure some people like it and some dont.. Judging from above i stand with the crowd who doesnt.
Remember you are trying to change the basic gameplay of a game. It will NOT work. If you added features to existing gameplay (like utcomp) it would work but changing the whole game no..
Its about as much worth as the lowgrav mutator ingame.
UT2004 people might like it because of the dodgejump. UT people wont like it BECAUSE of the dodgejump.
Sure you can continue youre devolepment of this mod but it will never be a success..
sorry... just telling you as it is.

:)
I'm well aware that spending time coding a mutator that might not receive much attention could be seen as a waste of time. However it's actually quite enjoyable working on this project just for my own amusement and it's a great way to learn some UScript along the way.
Everything I've done in this thread so far has been an experiment and was mainly to gain some feedback from the community. It's served this purpose well and that's one of the reasons I'm writing two separate mutators. For example one thing i noticed was that dodge jump just doesn't suit UT3's default maps no matter how much I tweaked the weapons and other movement properties. So in the competitive mutator this probably won't have a place. However it will most certainly be in the other mutator I'm writing.
If people don't play with either of them then that is Ok. Like I said it's for my own amusement.
Thanks for the input though and enjoy your hangover =p

pu - UT3 does need changes especially the competitive community. it's no secret the game has some major balancing issues. making a popular competitive mod is all about making the right changes and it can easily be done by consulting with the UT3 competitive community to get a better view about what needs to be changed and whats not.
There is no reason it woulden't be used if it would work right imo, I'm personally waiting for such a mutator since the first day i played the game and i dont think im the only one tbh. keep up the good work tweakd :)

it wouldnt be used, but yeah like you said that isn't an issue for you so i guess its irrelevant.
imo the changes you could only begin to justify are lowering the damage of the enforcer and lowering air control slightly.
change on such a level should exist out of necessity, not personal preference.

Anything is possible. Sometimes it is worth to take a chance and just do something even if you have the odds against you or if it is just as Tweakd said, to learn. Take for instance a look at Counter-Strike, it started out as a small mod and is now the most played FPS of all time. You never know where a project might bring itself if the quality is good and you got a bit of luck.
Keep it up Tweakd!

Please keep working on the badass project. Also is there anyway to get you to post links to the older versions that had the quake style movement. Ive been looking for this type of mut for a long time. Thanks in advance.
